theoretical background and practical advice and guidance

on how to engage their research with key policy audiences

by using policy briefings.

About this course 

The session will first provide a broad overview of research uptake and policy communications and different tools and mechanisms available to identify, reach out to and influence different policy audiences.  It will focus specifically on policy briefings and how to go about developing, writing and disseminating an effective briefing. 

What will you learn

By the end of the module students will have:

  • Gained a broad overview of research uptake and policy communications.
  • Developed their understanding of how different communications tools, and in particular policy briefings, can be used to engage with different audiences.
  • Improved their knowledge of how to identify and prioritise key policy audiences.
